SINGAPORE : The vigilance of an alert member of public resulted in the arrest of two Indian teenagers, suspected of trying to break into a provision shop located at Jurong East Street 24.

The member of the public, who is identified as Mr Chua, spotted the two suspects early Monday morning attempting to break into the provision shop, while on his way back from work.

He continued observing the suspects and called the police when their attempt to break into the shop failed.

With the detailed description he provided, the suspects were arrested near a primary school at Jurong East St 24.

The suspects will be charged on Tuesday.

If convicted, they can be fined and jailed a maximum three years. - CNA /ls
