Man held over rape of his mentally-ill daughter

IPOH: Police have arrested an unemployed man after a report was lodged against him for raping his 18-year-old mentally-ill daughter.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Azisman Alias said the report was lodged at the Simpang Pulai police station by the victim's older sibling on Thursday.

Investigations revealed that the victim, who attends a special education school here, was the third child in a family of five children.

She has been sent to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for examination.

Asst Comm Azisman said the man was picked up at his house here yesterday at 1.40am and was brought before the court on the same day.

The suspect would be remanded until Oct 18, he said.
