Threat: Police in Massachusetts have arrested a man who threatened to kill model Miranda Kerr
A 52-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to charges that he planned to travel across the United States in a plot to kill Miranda Kerr. Steven C. Swanson, a resident of East Sandwich, Massachusetts, was arrested Wednesday after raising concerns with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
According to the Sandwich Police Department, Swanson dialled a dispatcher in Los Angeles and shared his plans to 'rescue' the 30-year-old model, whom he referred to as his 'wife' and 'soul mate'.
Swanson said he would travel from a local airport to Logan International Airport in Boston and on to the West Coast where he would 'light up Los Angeles' in a search for the former Victoria's Secret model. He also claimed to be a federal agent and that 'Marshall Law would have to be declared' to stop him and that he was planning to travel with two handguns.
When local police turned up at his home early Wednesday morning, they deemed that Swanson had a 'mental obsession with Kerr' and found pictures of the model posted all over his kitchen and his home office. No firearms were found, though a pellet gun that 'looked like a real pistol' was taken from the scene.
He was arrested on charges of making a threat concerning the location of dangerous items and held on $2,500 bail.Swanson also made threats against the Barnstable Municipal airport, according to a press release.

Swanson is no stranger of the law, already having a conviction on his record for operating under the influence. He reportedly suffers from bipolar disorder and schizophrenia and, according to a court doctor, had not taken his medicine in months.
He is currently undergoing a court-ordered mental evaluation and is next scheduled to appear in court for a pre-trail hearing on July 19. The Australian native lives in Los Angeles with her husband Orlando Bloom and their 2-year-old son Flynn.
