A TECHNICAL officer put on a nurse’s uniform and sneaked his way into a ward at Raffles Hospital where he molested a female patient.

Yesterday, the 40-year-old man, Sim Siang Heng, was acquitted of molestation and trespassing into hospital grounds after he agreed to compound the outrage of modesty offence and pay $4,500 to the 28-year-old British flight attendant to settle the matter.

However, police gave him a stern warning on the charge of trespass, telling him that if he committed the same offence again, he would be brought back to court.

When an offence is compounded, the offender will not have a criminal record.

Typically, a sum of money and an apology is given to the victim to settle the matter.

For that to happen, the victim must agree to it, although the prosecution can object if it believes that compounding the offence is not in the public interest.

Sim admitted he had entered the woman’s room on Jan 28 at about 9.20am.

The woman had undergone an operation and was warded for observation when Sim molested her.

Investigations showed he had also trespassed into the room of another patient, a 31-year-old woman.

It turned out later that Sim was suffering from a mental condition at the time. He was diagnosed later by an Institute of Mental Health psychiatrist to be suffering from acute depression.

Since the incident, the hospital had put in extra security measures to control access to the wards.

This includes locking the side doors to the wards and placing a security officer outside.

Anyone convicted of outrage of modesty can be jailed up to two years or fined or caned, or receive any combined sentence.

The punishment for trespass is a jail term of up to one year and/or a fine of up to $3,000.

Offences which can be compounded include causing mischief or hurt, threatening or defaming someone, and less serious cases of molestation that do not involve assault.

This is what will happen MORE if AV continues to raid Gaylang, Hotel 81, and every FUCKING place they can raid.

Heard from a couple of AV officers they already damn tulan as the ORDERS for these raids are from "higher authorities".

Heard they also say, tonight we catch 500, tomorrow at Changi Airport, 750 new ones will come.

So what is the point? The point is the fault lies with those that ALLOW all these FTs.

JUST WAIT FOR THE AIDS, TB, EBOLA EPIDEMICS TO HIT THE SCUMS FAMILIES. MAYBE THEN THEY WILL STOP SUKA SUKA ADMITTING FTs TO MASSAGE GDP FIGURES.

need to ship idiots like these to Johor or to Batam

A good way is to make living expenses too high in Singapore for losers like him

Opps, that is already a reality!

It cost $4,500 to touch a 28-year-old British flight attendant. I hope she is pretty.

Now mr. Sim can continue with his 'normal' life and do whateveer he likes doing, only thing is he muat not commit the same offence and get caught.
