Man drags boy out of car, throws him by roadside in Sengkang

SINGAPORE - Police are investigating a case involving the ill treatment of a child, after a video of a man repeatedly dragging a child out of a car onto the ground was posted on social media.

Police said they were alerted on Monday (June 4) at around 12.40pm to the case along Sengkang East Way.

In the video sent to citizen journalism site Stomp, the man was seen dragging the child out of the car and throwing him against the ground by the side of the road.

When the child dashed back into the car, the man walked back around the car again to pull him out.

The child then approached the man, who appeared to be berating the child. The man then suddenly shoves the boy forcefully onto the grass patch.

The boy attempts to re-enter the car, but was reproached by the man.

The video ends with the pair standing by the car.

According to the unidentified netizen who posted the video on Facebook, the man left the child by the side of the road.

He returned later to look for the boy, who was being comforted by a resident of the nearby Housing Board flat.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Unlikely. It's all about upbringing. The father's father probably did the same to him when he was young and now he does the same to his kid. Despite receiving education, the father has obviously not change such domestic cultural behavior. I am sure after this episode, he will do the same or similar stunts again. All one can hope is that the kid will not learn such repulsive actions from his dad when he grows up.

Yes, children can sometimes drive the parents crazy. But still no excuse for abusing the kid. Hope both of them don't pull such stunts again. The kid better don't forget what caused this incident, and the father better don't do it again. Our society has become more intolerant of such parental behaviour.
