Man charged with using criminal force on police and appearing naked in public

SINGAPORE: A 31-year-old man has been charged with using criminal force on a police officer and appearing in the buff at a taxi stand.
Bhagat Singh Khaira was allegedly naked at the cab stand at Serangoon Plaza on June 8 this year at about 4.40am.
He faces another count of behaving in a disorderly manner in public by shouting and gesticulating with his hands.
On the same morning, Bhagat allegedly spat at a police officer.
For being nude in public, he could be jailed up to three months and fined up to S$2,000.
If found guilty of behaving disorderly, he faces up to one month' jail and S$1,000 fine.
And if convicted of using criminal force on the officer, Bhagat is looking at a two-year jail term and a fine.
Separately, a man has been charged with causing hurt to another.
Forty-eight-year-old Oon Kim Lye is accused of using a metal mini wok containing hot soup to hit the head of Mr Koh Wee Tek.
This is said to have happened on June 27 this year at a coffeeshop in Tampines Street 41 close to 3am.
If convicted, Oon can be jailed up to seven years, caned and fined.
