Man believed to have stolen S$300,000 of jewellery arrested

SINGAPORE : Police have arrested a 29-year-old man who is believed to have broken into a jewellery shop at People's Park Complex last Tuesday and made away with about S$300,000 worth of jewellery.
The suspect was identified from CCTV recordings.
Officers lying in wait at Bukit Gombak MRT station detained the suspect on Sunday.
The man led the officers to a flat in Bukit Batok where some 400 pieces of jewellery were recovered.
The officers also discovered an assortment of mobile phones and computer notebooks in the flat which are believed to be stolen.
The suspect will be charged in court on Tuesday. If convicted, he faces a maximum jail term of ten years.
The suspect will be remanded for further investigations.
