Man arrested for using old address for illegal loans

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested 54-year-old man for using his old residential address to obtain illegal loans from loansharks.
Police said the current occupants were harassed by loansharks and acting on a report, officers arrested the suspect at Bukit Batok East Ave 4 on Thursday at about 11.15am.
Investigations against the man are ongoing.
Under the Moneylenders Act, any person who is guilty of providing false contact information to obtain loans from loansharks faces a minimum jail term of 12 months.
