Man arrested for suspected loansharking activities

The police have arrested one man for suspected involvement in loansharking activities.

On Monday at 8.15pm, through follow-up investigations on a case of loanshark harassment, officers from Jurong Police Division arrested a 22-year-old man in the vicinity of Chulia Street for his involvement in loansharking activities.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is a debtor and had assisted the loanshark syndicates to collect repayment of loans from other debtors.

Upon his arrest, $700 in cash and one mobile phone containing debtors' information were seized in connection to the case.
