Man arrested for suspected ATM tampering

A man was arrested today (18 Mar) on suspicions of tampering with an ATM machine.
The man had been seen loitering at Boon Lay MRT station with two suitcases loaded with tools at about noon today.
An eyewitness, Mr Wang, told reporters that the man was in his 50s and carrying tools that included an electric saw, screw drivers, and a wrench.
Strangely, he was also carrying many odds and ends in his suitcases, like toothpaste, shampoo and clothes.
Police arrived and arrested the man before a large crowd of onlookers.
The area around the ATM machine was also cordoned off for investigations.
