Man arrested for stealing $900

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 37-year-old Malay man believed to be responsible for committing four counts of housebreaking and theft offences at a place of worship along Yung An Road.
On Nov 23, the police received a report on an incident of housebreaking and theft at the said location.
The total cash stolen amounted to $900.
Upon receiving the report, officers from Jurong Police Division commenced extensive ground enquiries. Through follow up investigation, the identity and whereabouts of the suspect were established.
The suspect was eventually arrested at his residence in Woodlands Ave 6 on Dec 5 at about 1.40 am. He is believed to have committed other cases of housebreaking and theft at the same location on other occasions.
The suspect will be charged in court on Dec 6 for Housebreaking and Theft by Night under Section 457 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 which carries a maximum of 14 years imprisonment.
The Court’s order will be sought for the suspect to be remanded in Jurong Police Division for further investigations.
