Man arrested for molesting woman at bus stop

SINGAPORE - A 39-year-old man has been arrested for outraging the modesty of a woman in the vicinity of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3.
On Nov 21, 2012, the woman lodged a police report to inform that she was molested while waiting at a bus stop and the man had walked hurriedly away thereafter.
Officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division immediately conducted extensive follow-up investigations and managed to establish the identity of the man.
On Dec 7, 2012, the man was tracked down and arrested in the vicinity of Ang Mo Kio Ave 4.
He may be sentenced to an imprisonment term of up to two years and will also be liable to caning.
Commander of Ang Mo Kio Police Division, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police (DAC) Keok Tong San advises that victims of such crimes should remain calm, shout for help, look out for the culprit's physical description and mode of escape, and to call the police as soon as it is safe to do so.
