Man arrested for hurting and robbing woman on Orchard Rd

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 45-year-old man for allegedly robbing, punching and kicking a woman along Orchard Road on June 16.
According to police, the suspect had taken the woman's mobile phone and wallet just before 7am.
The victim suffered a cut on her forehead and was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for medical attention.
Identity of the suspect was established through a review of CCTV camera footage and ground enquiries.
The man was arrested on Monday at North Bridge Road. He will face court on Tuesday for the offence of robbery with hurt.
If convicted, he faces between five to 20 years in jail, and shall be liable to no less than 12 strokes of the cane.
