Man accused of molesting boy

A 37-YEAR-OLD man was charged in court on Monday with molesting an 11-year-old boy at a staircase of a shopping mall.
Azmanshah Zailamshah is alleged to have touched the boy's private parts at the basement 1 staircase of Tiong Bahru Plaza last Saturday.
Police were on anti-crime patrols at about 3pm at the Tiong Bahru Road shopping mall when they spotted a man entering the stairwell with a boy.
They checked, and found the man bare-bodied and the boy clad only in his underwear. He tried to flee but was detained.
Azmanshah was remanded for investigation for a week as he is believed to be involved in other criminal cases.
If convicted, he can be jailed for up to five years, fined, caned or received any combined punishment.
