Yup I noticed. The word 'canai' comes from 'Chennai', hence pronounced as 'chanai' ('canai' is Malay spelling). We call it 'prata'. Tamils in Chennai call it 'barotha'.

Roti canai (M'sia) = roti prata (Sg) = paratha (India)

Same thing. But canai is the best tasting - light, fluffy, crispy. It's all in the dough.
