Malaysia police chief orders arrest of Twitter user for seditious tweet against Najib and wife
PETALING JAYA (The Star/Asia News Network) - Malaysia's police chief said on Thursday (Nov 26) he has ordered the arrest of a Twitter user who linked multiple high-profile deaths to Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor.
The user, who uses the handle Faisal Rohban, posted a tweet on Wednesday connecting four deaths, including the 2006 murder of Mongolian translator Altantuya Shaariibuu and the recent killing of Deputy Public Prosecutor Anthony Kevin Morais, to the prime minister and his wife.
"Those two don't have any other work to do?" said "Faisal" in his tweet.
He added that jailed opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim's sodomy case might also be linked to the couple.
Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar tweeted on Thursday that he had ordered the Police Cyber Investigation Response Centre to track and arrest the social media user for sedition. His tweet included a screen-grab of the offending post.
