Malaysia extends Covid-19 shutdown to April 14: Muhyiddin

KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysia's existing Movement Control Order (MCO) enforced nationwide will be extended to April 14, Malaysian Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced on Wendesday (March 25).

In his special address at the midway point of the original MCO period, Mr Muhyiddin said he was briefed by the National Security Council (NSC) and the Health Ministry about the continued rise in Covid-19 cases.

“The trend is expected to continue for a while before new cases begin to subside. This means that the government must continue the MCO for a longer period of time.

“I am announcing the extension in advance so that my fellow citizens will be prepared,” he said.

Looks serious. Hopefully they still allow vegetables and meat to be exported to Singapore

Kee Chew must once again look for the Thai chicken....to lay eggs.

Singapore government should reflect on something.

I spoke to many vendors, they said freelancers, craftsman in renovation and illegal (no GST paid) supplies from Malaysia are gone and actually their business is slightly better despite the recession. ICA has been sleeping all these years and make it unfair for our law-bidding SMEs to compete against these malaysians.

Extend lockdown what’s the use ?

jail the buggers who still insist on congregating for prayers la

There it goes, mudland PM8 sure predictably extended lock down now to 14 April and then likely to use Covid excuse to postpone indefinitely to hold parliament session in May when oppo parties have the chance to remove PM8 on a vote of no confidence. This Covid is a blessing to PM8 and it also provides him the opportunity to test the resilience of the paps when mudland workers are banned from working in the country.

The paps apparently were thrown into chaotic frenzy when PM8 mudland went for lockdown option and all mudland workers stopped flooding into SG. The paps were caught unprepared. If it had been a real war, mudland would have crippled the paps easily and SG destroyed by such economic sanction.

Time now for the paps to think seriously about manpower security and scrap over reliance on foreign manpower.

Malaysia is a good country

A country where the people's mandate is ignored and thrown to the wind. The people voted a party overwhelmingly into power but fragmentation of that ruling party caused the collapse of the Govt. Next, a small party got into power to form Govt bcos the Sultan, a figure head said so, not the people.

A good country? Seems not so politically.

The current new " backdoor" gahmen is using this virus thing for political reasons. They have to make deals to survive next parliament session. Meanwhile, farmers and breeders are destroying their goods as no transport to market.

The people voted. Yes.
The Agung offered anwar's wife to be PM, and not Dr m, as she headed the largest block in parliament.
She declined.
So whose fault is it.

In my opinion as long as the garment look after the well-being of the ordinary people is consider good

Bodoh... at least 6 months for m&d standard. China takes 2 months that is with 40,000 medical personals involved....

m&d can do in 1 month is a miracle...

That is very vague. What if only well being of some people? Then Singapore would also considered good. :cautious:

I'd rather have a Sultan in Sinkieland than Madam Diaperhead as the (selected) President.
