PASIR GUDANG (JOHOR) - After an absence of more than 17 years, Singapore's return to the Malaysia Cup last night was not the goal-fest that fans had anticipated, with the Lions XII and hosts Johor FC grinding out a 0-0 draw in front of some 3,000 fans at the Pasir Gudang Stadium in Johor Baru.
Given LionsXII coach V Sundramoorthy's cautious approach to away games, it was no surprise that he started with a 4-1-4-1 formation that aimed to soak and strike with skipper Shahril Ishak playing the lone attacker's role, supported by the marauding Yasir Hanapi on the right flank and Irwan Shah on the left.
