According to Mr Mah¡¯s ¡°expert opinion¡±:
The number one issue everywhere is cost of living, and (there¡¯s talk) about how we can lower the cost of living.
Oil prices are shooting up and food prices are going up, so how do we lower the price of food when we have to pay more to import food? The only way is to upgrade our skills and increase our pay.
Training is not a very sexy subject. I talk to you about it but you say ¡®aaah¡¯, you want to talk about something else. But it¡¯s a very serious message.
That¡¯s why I¡¯m spending so much time here. All these people who are here are helping or trying to help low-wage workers upgrade their skills.
Mr Mah, who is expected to be re-elected into Parliament by piggy-backing on a GRC (again) will likely see a pay increase of at least 10%.Oil prices are shooting up and food prices are going up, so how do we lower the price of food when we have to pay more to import food? The only way is to upgrade our skills and increase our pay.
