[h=4]M1's 3G sms service was down on Friday morning, from as early as 3am according to some frustrated users with whom The Straits Times spoke. -- PHOTO: M1[/h]<!-- story content : start -->
M1'S 3G SMS service was down on Friday morning, with affected callers calling the telco as early as 6am, saying that their SMSes were either not going through at all.
Others said their friends were being spammed by 20 or so SMSes when only one message had been sent.
Customers told The Straits Times that M1 only alerted them to the problem at 11am, and noted that the network has been having many problems lately.
In a statement to the press, M1 said that only customers in the south-western region experienced difficulty in sending SMSes on the 3G network this morning, but that services were successfully restored at 10.55am.
