I'm going to book a seat from KL to JB. The operator is a double-decker, and there are 7 seats on the lower deck.

Has anyone ever sat on the lower deck ? I like it because the toilet is behind, and there are only 7 in the small cabin.

AI Overview

The lower deck on a coach is often more comfortable because it provides a more stable ride with less shaking and rolling, especially on rough roads, due to the lower center of gravity. Passengers on the lower deck also find it easier to access their luggage, have more space to keep bags under their seats, and can avoid the foot traffic and noise from people moving between decks on longer journeys.

Reasons why the lower deck is often more comfortable:
  • Less Motion Sickness:
The closer proximity to the road means less vertical movement, which can be particularly beneficial for those prone to motion sickness.

  • Reduced Vibration:
With a lower center of gravity, the lower deck experiences less roll and sway when the bus turns or changes lanes.

  • Easier Access to Bags:
Passengers can keep their bags closer by, under the seats, and keep an eye on them more easily than on the upper deck.

  • Less Traffic and Noise:
On long trips, the upper deck can be a thoroughfare for people going to other areas of the bus, making the lower deck a quieter and more enclosed space.

  • Stability:
The lower deck is a more stable position on the bus.
When you might consider the upper deck:
  • Scenic Views:
The upper deck offers a wider view of the surroundings, which can enhance the travel experience for some.

  • More Privacy:
While the lower deck can be busier, some people prefer the upper deck for a sense of more privacy and a more open atmosphere.

  • Less Foot Traffic:
Some travelers find the upper deck quieter because there's less walking and moving traffic compared to the lower deck.

Good for lao nang.

The best are those elevated single deck buses, with plenty of leg space.

Reminder: the bus stops at tourist traps. Only get off to use the toilets.
