The Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) has elected a new central executive committee with a mix of old and new members.
But noticeably absent in the line-up are two relatively new faces that are also seen as more pro-establishment than most of the party's veterans.
They are Dr Ang Yong Guan, a retired Army colonel and grassroots leader, and Ms Michelle Lee, a former civil servant. Both said they chose not to run for the CEC as they preferred to serve the party in other ways.
Dr Chee Soon Juan was re-elected secretary general. The SDP has a new chairman in opposition veteran Jufrie Mahmood, and its new vice-chairman is former ISA detainee Vincent Cheng.
