In what appears to be another bizarre incident in Yishun, several Yishunites - people who live in Yishun - were locked up in the basement of Northpoint when the fire system of the buildiing went off, sealing all the exits with everybody in the building within it.

According to readers who unfortunately live in Yishun, no one had any idea why there was a lock down. When the alarm system was finally disabled, many Yishunites were relieved that they would finally be able to go home.

No explanation was given as to why the system malfunctioned.

One netizen wrote: "I was so glad I wouldn't be stuck with a group of cat killers and crazy people in the building anymore, I promised myself I would move out of Yishun within a month."

He added, "I'll even pay money to support the building of a wall around the area just to keep all the Yishun out."

The lock down is necessary to prevent people from stealing things during a fire :D

Ahh..when they is a fire...the logic is to allow people to run out & away from a burning building?...what the building explode....I had almost a similar experience with a lockdown ...almost...was about to step into a fareprice supermarket..when the alarm went off & all the shutters came down & all were LOCKED IN...I was 30 seconds away from the auto sliding door....it was a false alarm...& it took 25 minutes to reset & open the shutters...I sat in the coffee shop oppo the supermarket & counted the minutes....I was very free..
