Loanshark runner arrested

POLICE have arrested a man on suspicion of assisting loansharks conduct business. The 27-year-old man was spotted loitering along Clementi Ave 3 by officers patrolling the area on Sunday night. The man was stopped and found to have $1,500 in cash, more than 20 ATM cards and several bank transaction receipts. He was immediately placed under arrest for suspected loansharking activities. Police say that the suspect is likely to be a debtor-turned-runner who had assisted loansharks by conducting bank transfers. Investigations are still ongoing.
