Microsoft is phasing out Internet Explorer for Spartan*browser

Remember Internet Explorer? Well it’s being phased out to make way for the*angry-sounding Spartan browser.

Spartan will replace Internet Explorer on Microsoft’s Windows 10.

Experts behind it have promised a range of new features including*sync between phones and PCs.

The IE will still be available for customers who need it to run certain programmes, however.

For the many who grew up with IE, the shiny blue ‘e’ has become*synonymous with evenings spent on MSN Messenger.

But after 20 years the brand has grown tired and in much need of an overhaul.

Hello Blackie. Welcome to Sparta!

Spartan browser is still the same shitty browser from Microsoft with the Trident rendering engine - same as Internet Explorer. Maybe 'Spartan' is probably even worse because Ah Neh Nadella will tightly integrate the rest of Microsoft's dogshit ecosystem (e.g. Bing, Onedrive, Skype) into it. He was, after all, the 'cloud guy' at Microsoft before he became CEO.

You see, Microsoft has been losing market share to Chrome and Firefox all these years. Microsoft panicked a little and spent a lot of money putting propaganda telling everyone how awesome Internet Explorer is and how it had come a long way etc.

That didn't work, so now it resorts to copying Chrome and renaming the browser. That's not that different from Singtel changing its corporate logo.

All the SG govt websites are developed with IE in mind and this has been a terrible pain in neck as we view the websites with other browsers. See how fuckup the govt really is?

Spend millions of dollars on each website and without future proofing them. Now how? Use more taxpayers to re-do thier websites again?

Huat ah!!

Please give IE the recognition it deserves.

Without IE can you install other browsers ?
