Adopt rather than marry many
<!-- by line --><!-- end by line -->
<!-- end left side bar --><!-- story content : start -->I READ with dismay Dr Gordon Tan's suggestion ('Reviving an old chestnut'; Jan 22) that when a wife becomes biologically too old for childbearing, polygamy should be considered.
It is unfair to the wife who may have contributed to the wealth of the family, only to be discarded later because she is now considered too old to have a baby.
Adoption in other countries is common. There are many kids around the world who need the love of a family. Adoption processes should be made easier for childless couples.
