The origin of the rumor appears to be Gopalan Nair’s personal blog (above) and LEEWATCH has no independent confirmation at this time, although there is very vague anecdotal “evidence” that police were seen at Oxley Road and SGH. The blog entry is factually incorrect and outright delusional in parts: for example, Lee’s wife is warded at Tan Tock Seng, not SGH, and there are certainly no “Down With the Dictator” demonstrators on Orchard Road! The choice of hospital also seems odd, as SGH is a public hospital (and not a particularly good one) and not very convenient to Lee’s office or residence — although apparently Lee does use SGH for checkups on occasion. The mainstream media has kept silent, but this is to be expected as they will not report on any health issues until the PMO gives the go-ahead, and have censored some news completely (such as Lee’s bicycle accident). We will keep tracking the issue as it develops.
UPDATE: Gopalan’s blog has been updated to state that “this is a hoax”.
