Lawyers punished

A female lawyer who defended a criminal suspect in a gang rape case involving the son of a famous military singer couple was recently punished by the Beijing Lawyers Association, and will be disciplined by the association by receiving "public condemnation."
The association said that the lawyer, Zhou Cuili, violated regulations at a closed trial by revealing details of the trial on microblogs and to media.
Zhou was a defense lawyer for suspect surnamed Wang in the infamous gang rape case involving teenagers last year.
According to the association, all six lawyers defending the criminal suspects received various punishments.
