In a strongly worded letter to the President of the Law Society Mr Wong Meng Meng S.C circulated to members of the Law Society, 50 Law Society members have roundly condemned the Law Society President’s handling of an ongoing dispute between the Society and lawyer M Ravi.
The letter is a precursor to what is shaping up to be a contentious Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of the Law Society to be held on 24 September 2012. The letter is intended to be a set of “opening remarks” to be read at the EGM.
The letter bluntly tells Mr Wong: “If there has been any wrongdoing by you or Council, it is time to come clean and see what best can be done for all of us to move forward…You cannot be defending the action devoid of our views and divorced from our representation”.
