Is there a tax on such scarce resources in Sinkieland.
A guy owns/lives in a house with 12,000 sq ft of land with his wife and pinay maid. He is very unfairly wasting our land resources.
A family of 8 lives in an HDB 4 room with a hundred other families in a high-rise block that occupies less than 5000 sq ft.
PAP elites are not HDB folks.

Definitely no justice but if the Gov were to confiscate his property, make it smaller and redistribute the rest to commoners, then we are going back to communism, LOL.

And this is why we have additional control measures like ADSB to control the rich from over-plurging on properties and speculation.
Besides, landed properties are also constrained within certain residential areas in relatively low numbers ( < 5%) subjected to URA approval.

since gov owns those properties gov pays right pocket from left pocket property taxes based on the respective annual values (or rental yields of the two properties). renter or tenant doesn’t pay property tax (directly to gov), although they may pay indirectly thru’ rent premiums.
