I remember taking rolls of film to be developed into photos, they always came back in nice large envelopes: Kodak (yellow), Fuji Film (green/white) or Konica (blue).
Kids these days are missing out on a lot of fun. However, today you can take naughty photos (e.g. lanjiao selfies) without fearing the photo developer calling the police.
