The Reform Party Punggol East by-election candidate Kenneth Jeyarentam had invited Singapore Democratic Alliance candidate Desmond Lim to speak at his rally, but the latter declined the offer.
Speaking to the media this morning, Mr Jeyaretnam, who is RP’s Secretary-General, said he felt it was important that the lack of rally sites should not prevent anyone from putting their ideas across.
Mr Jeyaretnam, who will be holding a feedback session this evening at block 123A Rivervale Drive, described the situation as having “two stables for four horses”.
Mr Lim, who has released a series of online rally clips, told the media he has thanked Mr Jeyaretnam for his “good gesture” and “wished him all the best”.
However, Mr Lim said he is “running out of time” and his main priority is his door to door visits.
The RP chief’s final rally, themed Promise for a brighter future for Singaporeans, will be held tomorrow.
