The president suggested that Turkey already has serious plans or is already developing nuclear weapons. "We have started and will continue our efforts." Erdogan stressed that Israel does have nuclear weapons and is therefore "unapproachable".
Turkey signed the International Non-Proliferation Treaty in 1980, thereby promising not to take any steps that could lead to a nuclear explosion.
