Use report to engage the town councils

I THANK Mr David Kwok for his Forum Online letter, 'Draft residents for town council reports' (Feb 19).
The Town Council Management Report provides information on core areas of estate management carried out by town councils.
As this is the first report, we have decided to start simple, focusing on key estate management functions that are objective and measurable.
The report does not capture residents' views at this point. However, we agree with Mr Kwok that residents' views are important and we encourage residents to use the report as a platform to engage town councils in further discussions on how their estates can be improved.
We will review the framework of the report regularly to ensure relevance.
