NUSAJAYA - They were the 'Spider-Men" who climbed the walls of buildings and houses to steal valuable items.
It is believed that the two men's agility has enabled them to break into various premises for the past three months.
At about 6am on Wednesday, they climbed up the walls of a three-storey shophouse in Taman Nusa Bestari here with the intention of robbing an office.
Luck ran out for them when they saw policemen surrounding the building.
The two thieves tried to hide in the ceiling of the third floor office, but were found and caught.
Nusajaya OCPD Supt Noor Hashim Mohamed said the two suspects, in their 30s, only used gloves to climb the sides of buildings and houses.
"We got a call from a witness who saw two figures climbing up the side of the building.
"The suspects had stolen several items from the office, including some samples of agarwood and cendana," he said at the district police headquarters here yesterday.
He said the two men had past criminal records for drug and break-in cases.
In another case, a 30-year-old man, who is believed to be involved in several house-breaking cases was detained near the Bukit Indah Flat along the New Coastal Highway at 1.50am yesterday.
The man, who was driving a car, sped off when policemen in a patrol car tried to stop and question him. A chase ensued before he was arrested.
