I share a joint account with my wife. It was a Tuesday morning and I had just come back from the doctor because my 11 month old daughter had HFMD. I was trying to get her to drink water, when my wife told me she received a strange message from OCBC, telling her someone was trying to access her account.

It was the phising message, she clicked it.

If he live a women-free life, he will not have such problem.

to show u are smart and knowledgeable with an old brain , why dont u just show us the steps of how this scam work. i dont need details but
just the general steps involved.

What's so difficult??
1. Create ocbc clone site to capture login id, pin and otp.
2. Send sms to sinkies. "New transfee added, click on link to login and verify".
3. Sinkie sheep login with id, pin on clone site.
4. Hacker captures info real time, login on OCBC app or real site concurrently.
5. Sinkie/Hacker triggers SMS otp on clone and real site respectively.
6. Sinkie input real OTP on clone site.
7. Hacker enters Sinke's OTP on real site.
8. Hacker successfully login, ACTIVATE DIGITAL TOKEN and take over account.
9. Hacker adds new payee, increase daily transfer limit, empties account.

It was said that the good PM Lee raised an eyebrow at the OCBC towkays over this fiasco. That made the normally tight fisted chink towkays capitulate and quickly offer to pay back in full to all affected people. This proves that the PAP cares for sinkies like us. Majulah PAP!!!

One other point.... How come Singkieland allow Alpha Numeric Sender Id? and even if it did..how come such registration is not compulsory? It just shows the bureaucracy n the banks have been sleeping on the job.

Since it's soo easy...now wonder Singkieland is a target for scams.
