SINGAPORE - A jobless man who abducted his girlfriend's eight-month old baby after making a sinister threat was jailed for five months on Wednesday.
Shamsol Arifin Yusoff, 35, lived with his girlfriend and her son - who was from another relationship - at her flat in Butik Batok and returned there on Oct 23 last year after having a quarrel with friends.
While sharpening a knife, he said he wanted to "kill people". Later he began packing his bag and said he no longer wanted to live in Bukit Batok.
Shamsol picked up the youngster and his girlfriend thought he was merely playing with him. But when he carried him out of the unit he told her he was his stepson and she sensed something was wrong.
