Job cuts and low morale threaten recovery

Redundancies have hit the morale of British workers, threatening to undermine industry's recovery from recession, according to a report out . The survey of 3,000 employees also found a "fundamental lack of trust" in senior management, with many unhappy at the way job cuts had been handled. Four out of five of those questioned by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development said senior managers needed to restore trust in their leadership, either by developing "more honest" communications or giving staff a bigger say in workplace issues.
