A 66-year-old man allegedly stabbed a woman and injured another man at the foot of Block 965 Jurong West Street 93 on July 10 - reportedly out of jealousy after seeing her chatting with other men.

The attack happened at around 6.40pm. According to Shin Min Daily News, the man had concealed two knives under his clothes and later used one to slash at the group seated at the void deck.

The female victim, 43-year-old Zhu Nai Na (transliterated), was stabbed in the forehead. Reporters observed that she had suffered two knife wounds, including a gash between her eyebrows measuring at least 4cm long.

Speaking to Shin Min Daily News, she calmly said: "He was jealous that I was chatting with two other men at the void deck, so he stabbed me and one of the men I was with."

Ms Zhu, who had blood all over her face, added that she had no romantic relationship with the attacker.

One of the men she was speaking to, 62-year-old Rosman, escaped injury.

Seated in a wheelchair, he said the three of them had simply been chatting when the attacker arrived, appeared agitated, and tried to pull Ms Zhu away.

He said: "When she refused several times, the man became very agitated and ran home to retrieve a knife, hiding it under his clothes."

"He then attacked the other man who was chatting with her, and slashed at her too. After both were injured in the head, she and the man struggled with each other," Rosman recounted.

Rosman added that the man ran away after the attack, and they immediately alerted the police, who later arrested the man at his home.

"During the struggle, my phone screen was also smashed. I was very frightened," he said.

Residents Shin Min spoke to said they had seen the attacker and Ms Zhu entering and leaving the same unit in recent weeks, though they were unsure of the nature of their relationship.

Rosman said he assumed they were a couple. At that moment, he had seen her with the other man and had simply gone over to chat.

When asked by reporters about their relationship, Ms Zhu denied being in a relationship with the man and only said they were "neighbours".

In response to media queries by Shin Min, the police confirmed that a 64-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman sustained minor injuries but declined to be taken to hospital.

A 66-year-old man, who was also slightly injured, was sent to hospital and later arrested for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.

Two knives were seized, and investigations are ongoing.
