1) everyone working adult above age 20 have to pay 5-10% of their salary to enjoy. it's a insurance by the government
2) 5-10%, depends on how many is covered. eg, you can be single, or you want your housewife to be covered, even your kids(under 20). but no matter what, the max you ever need to pay is 10% of your salary
3) once insured, you only need to pay 30% of your medical fees on anything, CAPS AT 80,000 YEN (1K+ SGD) from a 2 tablets of panadol, to better class bed, to a whole heart operation. which means if you need to do a major heart operation, you only pay at most 80,000 YEN
4) the worst class beds in JAPAN is 6 beds to a room (with air con and windows)
