SINGAPORE - A 32-year-old dispatch rider has been sentenced to a month's jail for kicking an Aetos Auxiliary Police officer on the left forearm at the junction of Geylang and Tanjong Katong roads.
Corporal Mohammad Rezwan Amat, 29, - who was on duty at the nearby Geylang Serai bazaar - tried to help Mohamad Faizal Mohamed Elias on Sept 18 last year when he saw the latter walking slowly across the road.
Mohamad Faizal was also sentenced to a month's jail for attempting to steal a motorcycle at a multi-storey car park at Block 716A, Tampines Street 71 on Dec 17 last year.
His lawyer had asked District Judge Soh Tze Bian to put his client on probation as Mohamad Faizal has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and is on medication.
Both sentences will run concurrently. Shaffiq Alkhatib
