Vote and discuss, telling us the reasons why. No fluff and idiotic juvenile please. Also, no long rambling hard-to-understand posts please.

Nope. LTK wont try to hit all seats and may not win all targets. Other Oppo will spoil the broth again. GE fault lines will change.

You comment and don't vote. Is this typical of Sinkies who complain so much about PAP and then quietly still vote PAP?

Balu voted 'maybe YES.' Since it's vote and discuss, I better discuss since voted liao.

I feel optimistic, especially after what took place at PE. In addition, the younger generation more gung ho. They are more prepared to give credible opposition chaps a chance unlike the older generation who grew up knowing and trusting only the PAP. The manner the PAP alienates, policies screw-up etc are reasons for my optimism.

I was at Rivervale Mall during the PE by-election....I noticed MANY youngsters who are volunteers zealously and openly supporting and distributing PAP propaganda flyers. I think they're from YPAP, not sure. So, I think the PAP has moved on from the older generation to the younger generation. The younger generation, if my reading of them is correct, is more pro-PAP than opposition. So, the PAP is rebirth and re-inventing itself, when the Opposition is still clamoring for older generation's support, the PAP has gone to the next level.

I voted but I do agree with Steffy's assessment.

2016 might be too early to see the fall of the 超级白.

WP should focus on keeping Hougang, Punggol, Aljunied and focus on the SMC they narrowly lost in 2011.

The other parties should start their groundwork on areas they've contested previously - that is of course with the exception of Mr record holder Desmond Lim.

There will always be die hard PAP supporters and anti pap supporters.

Given that the 超级白have always portrayed the opposition as that - opposition. Young kids will want to associate with the branded ones - much like coffee from Starbucks and coffee from kopi tiam.

The older pro pap folks will soon pass, the younger ones will step into worklife and feel the full force of 超级白's bullshit. They should wake them up.

The way I see it, all is not lost yet. Money can only buy that much of support. Just look at the recent BE.

I seriously doubt it. These could be offsprings of diehard pap fans, and a single BE is misleading in that you are seeing a congregation of pap fans in a single mall. If pap can replicate this in all the malls on the same day, then I may believe what you said.

I voted for unlikely. The electorate is still immature(stupid) and there current opposition is still not strong. If SDP kicks Chee out and rebrand themselves, there will be a good chance come 2021.

things move very fast this day and age.......no one expected or saw the jasmine revolution coming too...or closer to home what happened in Malaysia.
the electorate is waking up across the board.......not just the young and new voters........
i hope PAP continues its high handed ways........machiam 6.9m white paper right after PE BE loss........totally lost touch. Think keep getting worse until 2016 and ball-less sinkies might just rise up.

if so many youngsters then why pap rallies "boh langs"?

dont tell me those "volunteers" are machiam like DL's volunteers who were paid by the hour...

WP will compete in about 45% of the seats, hoping to win all. Their strategy is to offer a BE effect with no chance of the PAP falling. Also, investors don't get nervous. They don't have resources/ enough candidates to go for the kill, not that they want to. Hence the mis-step by Pritam that they were ready for coalition government a little while back. Something they have discussed intensely, and it just poured out of his mouth.

This strategy also encourages the younger, politically aware to start jumping into politics, seeing the opportunities in about 10 years time. The BE results demonstrate WP's ability to stay the course, at a steady pace. WP will get this kind of smart, politically aware, loyal Singaporeans.
