Everywhere on the road you see posters declaring that come this National Day, SINGAPORE will attain 47 years of age. Is it true??
Temasek (or Singapura - Lion City) was founded by Prince Sang Nila Utama in 1324. (nearly 700 years ago)
Ruled by Malay Sultans till 1819 when Raffles "founded" it. Named Singapore. (nearly 200 years ago)
Singapore, or the "Gibraltar of the East" fall to the Japanese Imperial Army in February 1942 and came to known as Syo-nanto. (nearly 66 years ago)
In 1945 Singapore reverted to British Rule. (nearly 64 years plus)
Granted self-government in 1955. (almost 57 years plus)

Who is the actual Father who conceived SINGAPORE.
