One may wonder why NTUC supermarket is the richest chainstore not taking over the wet markets first ??

Could it be PAP is using Sheng Siong covertly as a guinea pig , and then if the ground is sweet, NTUC would move in to take over the majority wet markets ??

You think so the feat ?

I said it before, and I say it again, Sheng Siong Wet market produce are the most expensive around. Yes dry stuff they are cheap but not wet market.

Unless they have different wet market prices in their outlets?

Just to quote a few examples.

Headless and crookback medium prawn, selling $11 kg, while Geylang Serai market head intact and straight prawn selling $5.50 kg. ( half the price )

Mince pork, $11 kg, Shop and Save $9.90.
Mandarin Orange medium ( lukum) 0.50 while NTUC 0.30.

Teochew Flower crab at SS selling at $27 per kg, unbelievable!

I do not just quote these 3 items to put down SS, don't believe you can check it out the full range and dart me.

Perhaps what's makes people think SS Wet market is cheap, is they make it look cheap compare to Shop n Save and NTUC, ie. wet market look and smell.

If SS is taking over your neighbourhood and you have no alternative, God bless you.
