Orang Tionghua is the polite way in Malay to address a Chinaman. Tiong Bahru is the town where FOB Ah Seng settles when they unload. Local Singapore Chinese refer almost everyone one else as Ah this or Ah that. Ah Seng, Ah Beng, Ah Mat, Ah Kow, Ah Lian, Ah Pui, Ah Lan.

I think Ah Tiong is apt.
