SINGAPORE: The IRAS has warned of a scam email with the subject title "IRAS Reward".

The scam email asks recipients to click on an attached link to fill in a form on a website to claim cash rewards, says the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS).

Members of the public should not respond to the email, click on its hyperlink or provide their particulars. The email and the website are scams, says IRAS.

The IRAS has made a police report and is investigating the matter.

Anyone who has received a suspicious email, letter, SMS or phone call purportedly from IRAS should immediately contact IRAS at [email protected] or call 1800 356 8225 to verify the authenticity of such a request. - CNA/ir

Beware of e-mails with the subject title 'Iras Reward' as they are part of a circulating scam, warned the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (Iras).

In an advisory released on Tuesday, Iras noted that the e-mails ask recipients to click on an attached link to fill in a form on a website to claim cash rewards, and that both the e-mail and the websites are fake.

Iras made a police report on Tuesday morning and is investigating the source of the scam after receiving feedback this week from about 10 people reporting that they had received such e-mails.

Members of the public are advised not respond to the e-mail, click on its hyperlink or provide personal information. The authority also urged those who receive suspicious e-mails, letters, SMSes or phone calls claiming to be from Iras to immediately e-mail [email protected] or call 1800 356 8225 to verify its authenticity.
