Five foreigners aged between 16 and 24 were charged in court on Thursday with drug offences.

The oldest among them is Indian national Karan Vijay Chetan, who is accused of taking cannabis mixture and having 0.21g of cannabis mixture in a flat at Jurong West Central 3 on Sept 7.

Mathieu Maxime Gautron, 17, a French national, faces two charges.

He allegedly had a packet of fragmented vegetable matter weighing 0.47g of cannabis mixture as well as a cigarette stick, a packet and one paper packet with 0.66g of the same substance at a flat in Mount Elizabeth the same day.

A 16-year-old South African, Abraham Carel Greyling, also faces two charges of drug possession and possession in a flat in Upper Serangoon View that day.

hang them all! They do not need to be in a juvenile camp or teen camp to be discipline or punish! don't waste taxpayers monies jailing them!

An Indian national was jailed for six months today for taking and having drugs.

Karan Vijay Chetan, 25, was working as an auditor at an international accountancy firm when he was arrested for drug offences at a flat in Jurong West Central 3 on Sept 7 last year.

He had pleaded guilty to consuming a cannabinol derivative on Sept 5 last year and having a grinder with 0.21g of cannabis mixture two days later.

The court heard that he had obtained the cannabis mixture from his supplier in Ang Mo Kio for $50.
