That's the narrow cultural-linguistic definition of 'Malay', which limits Malays to the Malay Peninsula, Brunei and Singapore, technically excluding those of Sumatran, Timorese, Javanese, Borneo and Balinese ancestry.

But you're wrong about 'Muslims'. A Malay apostate, one who has converted to Christianity, is still a Malay. There are quite a number of Malay Christians in Singapore and Malaysia. Race is race, and has got nothing to do with religion. Ditto with Arab Christians in Syria and Lebanon.

The broader racial definition includes inhabitants of the Malay Peninsula, Indonesia, Borneo and the Philippines - the Malay archipelago.

The Malays and their language are classified by anthropologists as Austronesians, idiot.

The actual original malay natives known as the Sakis predates from the cretan age , in which according to the Out of Africa Theory, several African native tribes migarted out of Africa and dispersed themselves into the various Malay islands of today and inhibited the densely forested and mountainous terrains. The word sakis was a term used by the later Austranesain migrants in reference to the already settled original native indegenious who had no recored history or language . The trem means savages becasue these ethinc groups were very backward and primitve, surving only by hunting and fishing in the wild and half dressed. Today, they inhibit the Cameron highlands.

The Austronesains who came as the later wave of migrants and colonisers intermarried the local natives. There were:

The thing is that malay is a pretty general term something like indian in some context. It's just like how a citizen of china like a mongolian is considered a chinese but is he really chinese as in han chinese? Nope.

Even malays themselves also cannot really define themselves and that is why ppl like mat hatter can be considered malay even though technically he's half indian but ppl actually consider him pure.

Most employers in the service sector who employs pinoys are already running on fumes. Weekdays are dead at most FnB establishments and service sector. Internal spending have decrease even though the population have increase. So does not make a difference if a sinkee gets a job at these FnB establishment or a pinoy replace a sinkee. Its just delaying the inevitable.
