India truck crashes into minivans killing '30'

At least 30 people, including 12 children, were killed when a cargo truck crashed into two minivans filled with labourers in the north-eastern Indian state of Assam, police said.
The truck was travelling on the wrong side of the road when it hit the vans at 04:40 am [11:10GMT] on Thursday. The truck driver has been arrested
Nearly a dozen people were injured and police say five of them are critical.
The victims were brick-kiln workers headed to work.
Many of the women workers were accompanied by their children.
The accident took place on a highway in Barpeta district, about 160km (100 miles) from the state capital, Guwahati.
Road accidents are common in India, often due to poor driving or badly maintained roads and vehicles.
In 2011, more than 130,000 people were killed on the country's roads.
