The police on Monday arrested all three accused, who are known to the girl's father, an official said.

The child's body was found in an isolated spot behind a railway station in the city on October 7, a day after she was reported missing, he said.

Two sisters, aged five and seven, were murdered while they were alone at home in UP's Etawah. Police said the two girls were killed with a shovel.​

Two sisters, aged five and seven, were murdered inside their house in Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah district on Sunday evening, police said. The girls were alone at home when the incident happened.

The victims, identified as Shilpi and Roshni, were found with their throats slit, allegedly by a shovel-wielding assailant.

Their mother, Sushila, told police that she had gone to collect fodder with the rest of the family at 5:00 pm. When they returned later, they found the doors open and the girls lying dead inside.

A man was arrested in Pune after he gave a 'supari' (contract) of Rs 75 lakh to kill his son over a property dispute. Six people, including the boy's father, were arrested in the case.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said the father, Dineshchandra Argade, a real estate developer, was upset with the wayward behaviour of his son Dheeraj Argade. The police official said the boy's behaviour was impacting his business.

Madhya Pradesh man beats woman, puts chilli powder in eyes, glues mouth shut​

The accused tied the woman up and beat her up. Afterwards, he put chilli powder in her eyes and glued her mouth shut. The accused has been arrested.​

A man brutally assaulted a woman and tortured her after tying her up in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district. The two were in a relationship for some time, the police said.

The accused, who was the woman's neighbour, reportedly had his eyes on her property, which was under her mother’s name. When the woman refused to hand over the property, the accused beat her up, threw chilli powder into her eyes and mouth and sealed her mouth with adhesive.

Mumbai crime news: According to media reports, a taxi driver in Mumbai's Nagpada was arrested for allegedly killing a woman and dumping her body near a rivulet. Nizam Khan, was in a relationship with the woman and admitted to killing her on suspicion that she was having an affair.



According to the police, the decomposed body of Poonam Kshirsagar, 27, was found on April 25 in the Uran area of Raigad district. She was a resident of Mankhurd, a suburb in eastern Mumbai, and worked as a domestic help in Nagpada in Mumbai.

On April 18, she went to her workplace but did not return home. When her parents enquired about her from the employer, they were informed that she had left the place in the evening. A missing person's complaint was registered at Mankhurd police station by Poonam's family.

A doctor from Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj allegedly found his estranged wife in an offensive position with two men at a hotel.

The video of the incident, which was captured on camera and gained a lot of attention on social media showed violent argument between the two sides.

On Thursday night, the husband who was suspicious of his wife’s activities, barged into a hotel room and caught her red-handed in a compromising situation. This triggered a physical confrontation between the husband, his family members and the two other men who were caught with his wife.

As per police, the doctor and his wife were living separately since the past one year after a domestic scuffle between them.

Both the parties were reportedly subjected to physical assault during the altercation, an India Today report stated.

The woman, who also works as a doctor at a government hospital along with the two other men involved were arrested. Among the two men, one hails from Ghaziabad and the other from Bulandshahr.

Apart from this, the doctor husband has filed a complaint against his wife and the two men, alleging misconduct.

However, the woman has still not lodged any complaint against her husband, police said.

A man in Uttar Pradesh's Badaun was sentenced to life in prison after he used a sickle to cut open his pregnant wife's stomach to check if she was going to give birth to a boy or a girl.

Panna Lal, a resident of Badaun's Civil Lines, had attacked his wife Anita in September 2020.

The couple were married for 22 years and had five daughters. However, they used to fight regularly as Panna Lal wanted her to give birth to a boy. Anita's family knew about the couple's dispute and tried to convince Panna Lal to stop fighting but he threatened to divorce Anita and marry another woman to father a son.


On the day of the incident, the couple fought over the gender of the unborn baby again. Enraged, Panna Lal threatened to cut open Anita's stomach to check if she was pregnant with a boy or a girl. When Anita fought back, he threatened to kill her.

He attacked her with a sickle after which she tried to run away from him. He grabbed her and used the sickle to cut open her stomach. She was eight months pregnant. Anita told the court that the cut was so deep that her intestines were left hanging from her stomach.

She ran out to the street and her brother, who worked at a nearby shop, heard her screams and came to rescue her. Seeing him, Panna Lal fled the scene.

Anita was rushed to the hospital. While she survived the attack, her baby, a boy, could not be saved.

Physiotherapist murders family to be with girlfriend, covers up with car accident​

The accused, Praveen, initially reported that his car crashed into a roadside tree, resulting in the deaths of his wife and their daughters, aged 2 and 3.​

An attempt by a Hyderabad-based physiotherapist to pass off the murders of his wife and two minor daughters as a car accident failed as police got a whiff of the plot and arrested him on Sunday. The arrest of Boda Praveen came 45 days after the incident that took place in Khammam district.

The incident occurred on May 28 when the family was travelling from Hyderabad to their native village in Khammam district. Praveen initially reported that their car crashed into a roadside tree, resulting in the deaths of his wife, Boda Kumari, 26, and their daughters, aged 2 and 3.

However, a probe at the accident scene aroused suspicion among the investigators. Upon further examination, it was revealed that Praveen had orchestrated the entire scene to conceal the murders.

Khammam ACP SV Ramanamurthy said Praveen, a 32-year-old physiotherapist, was in an extramarital affair with a colleague at the hospital where he worked.

When his wife found out about the affair, the couple had a heated argument. Praveen viewed his family as obstacles to his illicit relationship and decided to eliminate them.

Praveen administered a fatal injection to his wife under the pretext of treating her health issues. After Kumari passed away, he then strangled his daughters to death. --- kill his babies just to fuck his girlfriend

Praveen then proceeded to stage the accident by crashing the car into a tree, hoping to mask the murders as an unfortunate accident. The meticulous investigation by the police revealed the true nature of the crime, leading to Praveen's arrest on Sunday.

Record 46% of newly-elected Lok Sabha MPs facing criminal cases: Study​

251 of the 543 newly elected members have criminal cases registered against them and 27 of them have been convicted, revealed an analysis done by the Association of Democratic Reforms.

NEW DELHI: The 2024 Lok Sabha polls were historic not only in terms of the number of voters (64.2 crore), but also for the wrong reasons. A record 251 (46 percent) of the 543 newly elected members have criminal cases registered against them and 27 of them have been convicted, revealed an analysis done by Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR).

A total of 233 MPs (43 per cent) had declared criminal cases against themselves in 2019, 185 (34 per cent) in 2014, 162 (30 percent) in 2009 and 125 (23 percent) in 2004, the ADR analysis report revealed.

Among the 251 winning candidates this year having criminal cases against them, 170 (31 percent) face serious charges, including rape, murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping, and crimes against women. This is also an increase from 159 (29 percent) MPs in 2019, 112 (21 percent) MPs in 2014, and 76 (14 percent) MPs in 2009, the analysis showed.

The analysis also highlights specific cases among the winning candidates. It revealed that 27 winning candidates have declared they have been convicted in criminal cases. Four declared cases related to murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 27 declared cases related to attempt to murder under Section 307 of the IPC.

Fifteen winning candidates have declared cases related to crimes against women, including two facing charges of rape under IPC Section 376. Four winning candidates have declared cases related to kidnapping and 43 have declared cases related to hate speech.

The winning chances for a candidate with declared criminal cases in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections stood at 15.3 percent.

Of the 240 winning candidates of the BJP, which emerged as the largest party in the 18th Lok Sabha, 94 (39 percent) have declared criminal cases, according to the ADR, which further said 49 (49 per cent) of the Congress’ 99 winning candidates have declared criminal cases and 21 (45 percent) of the Samajwadi Party’s 37 candidates face criminal charges. From the TMC, which won 29 seats, 13 (45%) declared criminal cases against them and 13 (59 percent) of the DMK’s 22, 8 (50 per cent) of the TDP’s 16, and five (71 percent) of the Shiv Sena’s seven winning candidates have declared criminal cases.

Sixty-three (26 percent) BJP candidates, 32 (32 percent) Congress candidates and 17 (46 percent) SP candidates have declared serious criminal cases against them, the ADR found in its analysis. In case of TMC 7 (24 percent) candidates, six (27 percent) of DMK, five (31 percent) of TDP and four (57 percent) Shiv Sena candidates face serious criminal cases, it further noted.
